Triumph Enterprises is seeking an Engineering Consultant.

  • Serve as the Requirements Engineering (RE) workstream lead in nurturing client relationships, managing the portfolio, identify opportunities, and assuming responsibility for deliverables
  • Support the client in defining repeatable and durable processes to develop requirements during the initial phases of DHS’s Acquisition Directive (AD-102) and the Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC)
  • Providing strong analytical and program support with a focus on high-performance work
  • Helping identify the scope and objectives of project engagements including analyzing the impact of capability changes on the operational efficiency, security effectiveness, industry vitality, cost, and passenger experience of TSA’s checkpoint and checked baggage systems
  • Analyze current process, issues and risks that may impact projects
  • Conducting relevant research, distilling data and creating reports to identify emerging technologies and/or assess the viability of candidate solutions
  • Build qualitative and quantitative frameworks to foster data driven decisions on mission-related client issues
  • Performing system performance, financial and data modeling
  • Defining business and technical needs; integrating business solutions
  • Applying business modeling, process modeling, and business design techniques
  • Engage clients on project impact and propose new ideas
  • Preparing appropriate documentation for client including industry engagement documents such as Statements of Objectives, Requests for Information, and Broad Agency Announcements and the DHS Joint Requirements Council (JRC)
  • Maintaining accountability for process deliverables and business presentations to client
  • Providing day-to-day client support and running efficient meetings
  • Processing ad-hoc data requests as required by clients
  • Assuming responsibility for contributing to work plan development, assisting on work plan activities, and verifying completion
  • Communicating with technical and non-technical clients and team member
  • Develop executive-level and other client briefings including the ability to translate technical subject matter into non-technical terms
  • Developing leadership/management skills; mentoring junior team members
  • Completing assigned tasks within scope and budget
  • Participating in organizational assessments and focusing on performance measures and indicators

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical and/or Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering) and/or Computer Science
  • Minimum of one (1) or more years of experience in consulting and/or directly relevant industry experience
    • Preferred – Experience in quantitative data analysis, requirements management, modeling & simulation, or standards development; Project or research experience in machine/deep learning, X-ray, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear technologies preferred
  • Preferred – Experience as a federal contractor
  • Preferred – Experience supporting DHS or TSA contract(s)/project(s)
  • Ability to get a Public Trust
    • Preferred – ability to obtain Secret clearance
  • Moderate skill level with basic MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), familiarity with MS Project and Access preferred
  • Ability to adapt behavior and to develop and maintain relationships with people from varied backgrounds, specifically dealing with difficult clients
  • Ability to lead and adapt leadership style to a variety of situations in a way that will influence, motivate, and challenge others
  • Proven experience working with customers to proactively assess and understand needs, recommend path forward, options, or resolutions, and manage and satisfy expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral – must be able to express information and make convincing arguments to groups and individuals effectively, considering the audience and nature of the information.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability as it relates to: anticipating, identifying, and diagnosing problems, determining accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, make recommendations, and act from developed contingency plans
